D2 passenger transport certificate
The D2 is the authorisation issued by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure that permits a company to carry passengers commercially on unscheduled, pre-booked journeys. It is the document that distinguishes a licensed chauffeur operator from a private individual accepting money for a lift.
It is not a formality. Without it, the vehicle's commercial insurance does not respond in the way passengers assume, and the driver is operating outside the transport regulations. Our certificate is reproduced in full on our documents page — we would encourage you to ask any competing operator for theirs.
Travel agency licence no. 11345
Our parent company, İso Coşar Turizm Seyahat Acentası, holds a registered travel agency licence. This is what allows us to sell tours, multi-day itineraries and packaged services alongside point-to-point transfers, and it places the company under the consumer protections that apply to licensed agencies.
Commercial passenger insurance
Every vehicle carries compulsory motor liability cover plus commercial passenger seat insurance covering each occupant for the duration of the journey. Cover applies per seat, so a full V-Class is insured on the same terms as a single passenger in an E-Class.
Chauffeur qualifications
Each chauffeur holds an SRC passenger transport certificate, a current psychotechnical fitness assessment, and a clean criminal record check renewed on a fixed cycle. These are legal requirements for professional passenger drivers in Türkiye, and we keep the records on file at our Beyoğlu office.
What to ask any Istanbul transfer company
Can I see the D2 certificate?
A licensed operator can show it in seconds. Hesitation is the answer.
Is the driver employed by you?
If the reply describes a 'partner network', your booking is being resold.
Is the vehicle yours?
Ask for the plate at the time of booking. Owned fleets can supply it.
Does passenger insurance cover every seat?
Compulsory traffic insurance alone is not passenger cover.
